Experience of the developers and salary offered to them is often defined by the skillset they have. ‘s latest update suggests that developers with skills in Scala, Go, Objective-C often take away biggest paychecks.
The survey is based on 7,920 responses from developers. It is interesting to see that some of the most like Python are not paid as much as some of the rare programming languages. Python developers are paid surprisingly lower salary as compared to developers with skills in other rare languages.
Scala has gained popularity in this list. The programming language is used by many well-known companies including Twitter, Apple, Airbnb, and Verizon. Developers skilled in the use of Scala are being paid to build and among mission-critical applications.
Perl is another language that has secured among top positions in the list. In a note, Stack Overflow said, “Interestingly, Perl is amongst the topmost dreaded languages, so itβs possible that this high salary is to compensate for the dearth of developers who want to use that technology.”
